- Edgewater Environmental Sustainability Project (EESP) - High Level Timeline: Targeted Key Achievements - 2010 through 2020
This grid describes high level goals and year of completion. Each of the EESP committees identified key sustainability targets and the dates they felt the goal could and should be reached with the cooperation and collaboration of the community and public officials.

- Monthly 2008-2009 Chart (most recent first) of the process of planning for Edgewater's sustainable future from October, 2008 through December 2009 (As of 2010, the Planning phase was completed and the EESP document was published outlining the project's goals and strategy through 2020 for implementation of Edgewater's transition to an environmentally sustainability community). These monthly comments also include events or actions initiated or supported by EESP committee members.
Nov/Dec 2009
- Finalized editing and printing of report (Lead Team completed editing with final vetting from committee chairpersons. Minolta agreed to donate printing of document. Recycled paper bought from Consolidated Printing. Lead Team approved funding from donations previously deposited in the EESP subaccount of ECCs 501c3)
- Created Timeline of the targeted Key Achievements or Goals set for the period from 2010 through 2020 (See above)
Oct 2009
- Renew the annual license for our Wiki. (Completed - Peter Locke)
- Hire professional to edit and create appropriate format for EESP (Theresa Minarik volunteered services)
- Vidal-Hallett attend Chicago Green Town Seminar (Lead Team approved funding one-half fee from donations previously deposited in ECC account)
Sep 2009
- Refine prioritization of potential future options identified in the plan. (Completed)
- Finalize the sections of the report (Lead Team worked with Committee Chairs to complete Sections by Sept/Oct)
- Workshop on Energy Efficiency at Broadway Armory (in conjunction with 48th Ward and Green Dream Group) Heat Loss and Weatherization measurement tools bought from funds previously deposited in ECC account. Available to residents for free rental at ECC offices.
Aug 2009
- Meet with public officials for presentations on key aspects of plan's goals and determine how the plan can support and be supported by city, state and federal initiatives. This should be ongoing and collaborative (Ongoing)
- Receive feedback on the plan from the wide distribution. (Completed)
- Dedication of NEW Ravenswood Linear Park - visible achievement for Parks & Greening which supported funding and work
- Dedication of Foster Avenue Bricolage - 48th Ward Aldermanic and community volunteers Public Art acheivement
July 2009
- Fundraiser at Uncommon Ground (share one-half net proceeds with ECC)July 25th (Completed successfully)
- Prioritize how funds to be used, how disbursement will be approved (Formal arrangement completed. Currently using ECC 501C status for deposit of donations and funding)
Jun 2009
- Distribute the plan outline to the block club presidents. (When possible meetings with Block Clubs were set up and presentations made to members. Not all clubs meet regularly and not all Block Club presidents responded. A number belonged to ECC Board and received plan information at Board presentation)
- Distribute the plan to the Edgewater and Andersonville chambers for review. (Occured later in 2009 with focus on P&D design)
May 2009
- 16/17 Green Festival at Navy Pier – EEP2020 presentation.
- Receive the final reports from Jeremy Brooks / Loyola spring semester classes.
Apr 2009
- 9th Uncommon Ground, 6 -8 pm informal presentation of 10 Plan topics. (Completed)
- 25th North Lake Shore Earth Day; 9 to 4, at Loyola Univ. Quinlan Life Science Building – Present parts of EEP2020. (Successfully presented)
- Complete 1st prioritization of potential future options identified in the plan. (Completed in late 2009)
Mar 2009
- 12th – Community wide presentation of plan progress at Emmanuel Congregation. CAN TV recorded and showed on cable.
- Start prioritization of potential future options identified in the plan. (Completed in late 2009)
- Thorndale Community Garden recognized by CPD & Greencorps. Garden landscaping donated by Loyola, community volunteers recruited by Parks & Greening committees and NET Block Club.
Feb 2009
- Present progress to Edgewater and Andersonville Chambers and Development Corporations. (Completed in late 2009 with focus on Planning & Development's Comprehensive Neighborhood Development Plan designed by Greene, Vidal-Hallet and Aquilina team)
- Continue working on the “future state” of the 10 categories. (Process is ongoing and documented in EESP report. This will be flexible and refined as new environmental and sustainability ideas become known)
Jan 2009
- Start presenting the plan to Edgewater Block Clubs, Rogers Park, Uptown, Loyola (CUERP) and West Ridge Community Leaders and Government Officials. (Through 2009 Presentations made by various committeee members, but it continues and is ongoing)
- 10th Review Progress to Date with the ECC Board at the annual retreat. (Completed)
- Present progress to Loyola's Sustainability spring semester classes. (Completed)
- Start working on the “future state” of the 10 categories. (Process continued through 2009)
Dec 2008
- Finalize the “current state” of the 10 categories. (Process continued through 2009)
- Receive the final reports from Prof.Jeremy Brooks’ / Loyola classes. (Presented and Received copies)
- Start planning the topics for Prof. Brook’s next semester classes. (Completed)
- Initiate a “Building a Sustainable Community” multi-part speaker series with Loyola. (Series was presented)
Nov 2008
- Finalize the scope of the 10 categories. (Completed)
- Actively recruit 6 diverse members to work on each of the 10 Categories. (Category volunteers s/b continuously recruited)
- Start documenting the “current state” of the 10 Categories. (Crafting continued through 2009)
- Start cooperative planning for “North Lake Shore Earth Day 2009”. (Completed)
Oct 2008
- Review the proposals for Loyola Sustainability (Jeremy Brooks’) classes (Completed)
- Draft and refine the scope of the 10 Categories (Completed)
- Do the LEED ND approximate evaluation (Completed)
